Residents, businesses and visitors across rural and regional Australia are now benefitting from more than 50,000 square kilometres of new or improved mobile coverage, with Telstra activating its 100th mobile base station under the Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP).
Telstra, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), Motorola Solutions, and Qualcomm Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated have achieved the first LTE Broadcast enabled PTT call on Telstra’s commercial LANES Solution. Telstra’s LTE Broadcast capability allows PTT group calls to be delivered simultaneously to all members of a group call with high assurance, low latency and separated from regular mobile traffic.
Together with Ericsson, Telstra is progressively deploying LTE-Broadcast (LTE-B) across its network at national scale in 2018.
Pilot gives participants immediate access to new release content in premium quality with no impact to device performance or data plans.
At Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, Telstra has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) for several key programs supporting Telstra’s “Network of the Future” transformation program.
